Academic Intervention Services

Academic Intervention Services support students who need additional assistance in meeting learning standards and achieving academic success. These services are designed to identify student needs, provide targeted support, and help learners build the skills necessary to succeed in the classroom and beyond.

Through Academic Intervention Services (AIS), educators work to address specific areas of academic need such as reading, writing, mathematics, study skills, and overall instructional readiness. Support may include small-group instruction, individualized assistance, progress monitoring, skill-building activities, and collaboration with teachers, families, and school support staff.

The goal of Academic Intervention Services is to provide timely, focused, and meaningful support so students can strengthen their understanding, improve performance, and gain confidence as learners. By using data, instructional strategies, and ongoing communication, schools can better respond to student needs and help each learner move toward success.

AIS are an important part of a school’s commitment to helping all students access opportunities, overcome challenges, and reach their full academic potential.
